Supporting our children

Early Years Curriculum | Outdoor play | Supporting our children

We make sure we provide the best care for our children in the following ways:

Key worker: Each child will have a key worker who will really get to know your child, help them to settle in and plan for their next steps of learning. Your child's key worker will complete their Learning Journal using Tapestry which documents all their child's progress. This is an on-line application and the child's parent/carer can have access to this and view their progress. They can also upload activities that the child does outside the playgroup

SENCO/INCO: Our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is Lisa M. Lisa will work with parents and other professionals to ensure that those children who need extra support will get it. This could include writing a Play plan to support learning or accessing help from Speech Therapists or Early Years Advisory Teachers.

Safeguarding: Our Designated Safeguarding Coordinator is Teresa. Teresa's role is to ensure that all our staff are fully compliant with safeguarding procedures and that our Policies and Procedures promote children's safety and welfare.

Health and Safety: Our health and safety coordinator is Teresa. Teresa ensures that our equipment and routines are safe for the children and that our risk assessments are up to date. Alison also makes sure that all staff have current First Aid certificates.

Policies and Procedures: We have a comprehensive set of Policies and Procedures always available to view in the hall at Windmills. If you would like your own copies of any of the policies we will be happy to provide them. Our policies are continuously reviewed to ensure that we reflect on and develop practice.

If you would like to make a donation to Windmills Opportunity Playgroup Charity# 1072977 and help continue the valuable work our playgroup does, then you can do so through Virgin Money Giving. You can donate a single one off amount or make a regular payment. With regular payments you can change them or stop them at any time through the Virgin Money Giving website.

If you are a taxpayer then Virgin Money Giving even collects the Gift Aid for us. This means that for every £1 you donate, we receive an additional 25p from HMR&C.

Thank you.
